CISF is inviting male Indian candidates to apply for posts of drivers and constables. Various vacancies and reservation quotas are available for these posts.

- Constable/Drive - Backlog Vacancies > Total 743 posts. Out of which 195 are reserved for OBC, 420 for SC and 128 for ST candidates.
- Constable/Driver - Ex-Serviceman > Total 308 seats are available for ex-servicemen only. These are backlog vacancies.
- Current Posts for Constable/Driver > 137 posts. Out of which 36 are reserved for OBC, 20 for SC and 10 for ST. And 71 seats are for general quota.
- Constable/Driver - Ex Servicemen > There are 15 vacancies for Ex-Servicemen for current vacancies.
Age Limit:
Candidate should be between age of 21 to 27 years to apply for these posts. The age exemption is as per the Government norms. (Kindly refer to Govt advertisement for detailed information; link is given at the end of the post.)
Qualification:
Minimum qualification criteria is matriculation (10th Pass) or state/central board equivalent.
Eligibility:
Candidate must posses a valid driving license for a) Heavy vehicle, b) light vehicle c) Gear Motorcycle.
Experience:
As on 19/7/2014, candidate must have minimum 3 years of experience in driving heavy vehicle (transport vehicle), light vehicle or motorcycle with gear.
Eligibility Criteria For Ex-Servicemen:
1) Candidate should have Matriculation or state/central board equivalent or Army 1st class certificate or its equivalent for air force or navy.
2) For driving license issued on same day; RTO authorization for validity of license is needed or else the candidature will be rejected.
Selection Process:
Selection pathway is based upon Eligibility test, Physical efficiency, Written exam, Trade test and Medical Examination.
Eligibility Test:
Age, Educational qualification, physical eligibility including height, weight, driving license and experience for these posts will be verified based upon the certificates submitted by the candidates by Recruitment Board.
Physical Efficiency Test:
To be able to clear this test; candidate should
1) Run 800 meters within 3 mins and 15 seconds.
2) Long jump 11 feet within maximum 3 chances.
3) High jump 3 feet and 6 inches within maximum 3 chances.
Written And Trade Test:
Candidates whose documents are checked for educational and eligibility and who have cleared physical measurement shall undergo following tests.

Medical Test:
After the merit list is prepared, the selected candidates in order of merit will be undergoing thorough medical examination to confirm their medical suitability for the job. Only medically fit candidates will be selected.
Application Fees:
Applicants should pay 50 Rupees by postal order drawn in favour of the officer. Ex Servicemen, SC and ST candidates are exempted from paying application fees.
How To Apply:
Applications should be neatly filled in prescribed format and sent to concerned state or union territory authorities (details of which can be found in official advertisement. Applications should reach by 19/7/2014 for all regions except North East region. For North East Region the last date is 26/7/2014.
